Lucas de Val ( Dutch: Lucas de Wael ; March 3, 1591 , Antwerp - October 25, 1661 , ibid.) - South Dutch ( Flemish ) landscape painter; son of Jan de Val ; the elder brother of the artist Cornelis de Valais .

The student was first his father, then his uncle - Jan Brueghel the Elder in his workshop school, from which he went to Italy with his brother Cornelis. Over the long years of his life in Genoa, he painted many landscapes with waterfalls and rocks, both in oil paints and in frescoes . Upon returning from Italy in 1628 he was enrolled in the Antwerp Guild of Painters [1] .
