1960 - 1962 - engineer-economist, deputy chief, head of the planning and economic department of the Taras Shevchenko NGO in Kharkov .

1962 - 1979 - Postgraduate student, Department of Industrial Economics, assistant, senior researcher, senior lecturer, associate professor, deputy dean, dean, vice-rector, first vice-rector of the Kiev Institute of National Economy.

1979 - 1986 - Director of the Department of Industry, Science and Technology of the UNECE secretariat in Geneva .

1986 - 1989 - Deputy Director of the Institute of Economics of the State Planning Commission of the Ukrainian SSR (Kiev).

1989 - 1990 - Deputy Director - Head of the Institute of Economics, Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

1989 - 1992 - General Director (and founder) of the International Institute of Management in Kiev, director of the Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the ANU (since 1990 ).

2007 - 2012 - People’s deputy of Ukraine of the VI convocation from BYuT. Deputy leader of the BYuT faction Ivan Kirilenko . Chairman of the BP Foreign Affairs Committee.
