Implementation History
The renewal of the rolling stock of railways in Belarus often took place in cooperation with foreign companies (for example, from Poland , Switzerland , and China ). In this case, enterprises from the Czech Republic and Russia were connected to the works. The parties agreed that the Czech company CZ LOKO, which already has experience of cooperation with the Belarusian Railway, in the framework of the investment program “Modernization and Assembly of Shunting Locomotives in the Republic of Belarus” will supply vehicle sets for TME3, and Russian Transmashholding - wheel-motor blocks . It was decided to manufacture the main frame at the Baranovichi plant of automatic lines, and produce the final assembly at the Lida locomotive depot. .
The presentation of the diesel locomotive TME3-001 was held in Grodno on December 27, 2012 .
In January 2013 , the Belarusian Railway began acceptance tests of the locomotive. In total, it was planned to release eight such shunting locomotives in 2013. .
In the same year, the second model was built (TME3-002), and in 2014 - at least 18 more diesel locomotives of the series (numbers from 003 to 020) [1] .
The vehicle sets of new locomotives that CZ LOCO supplies within the framework of the agreements reached include [2] :
- main locomotive frames;
- electrical units (including electric locomotive control equipment);
- cabins with diesel locomotive controls;
- diesel generator sets;
- blocks of additional drives that provide electric drive for all auxiliary equipment;
- units with pneumatic equipment.
General Information
A two-axle diesel locomotive is designed to perform light and medium-heavy shunting work in the depot, on public rail tracks and on access roads of industrial enterprises with a gauge of 1,520 mm in climatic conditions with temperatures from –35 to +40 degrees, with a maximum slope of 40 0 / 00 [3] , at an altitude of up to 1000 m above sea level.
Single-section execution. Operation on the system of many units (CME) [4] [3] is possible.

Construction
Chassis
The chassis of the locomotive consists of wheel sets, traction motors (TED), axle gears, suspension and mechanical part of the shoe brake. Suspension is made on the basis of steel coil springs. The locomotive is equipped with a Knorr Bremse brake system. The wheels of the locomotive bandage type [4] [3] .
Powerplant
The power plant is located in the front hood, consists of a Caterpillar C15 diesel engine and a Siemens traction alternator [CH 1] . Power transmission from the power plant is electric, alternating current. Electricity from the generator through the traction rectifier is supplied to the intermediate circuit, from which the two traction containers containing the traction inverters are powered. Each traction container supplies energy to its asynchronous TED. This allows you to optimally distribute energy according to the TED (for example, when the clutch loses to the rails of the front wheelset when it is unloaded, the energy supply to its engine decreases, while the rear wheelset is always supplied with the TED). The regulation of diesel locomotive power and the control of auxiliary functions are provided by the MSV electronic system [4] [3] .
Brake system
The design of the locomotive has three pneumatic brakes (automatic, direct acting and additional), parking brake and electrodynamic brake (EDT). In this case, the automatic brake of the DAKO-GP system can operate in two modes (cargo and passenger). The EDT control unit and the pneumatic unit are installed in the rear hood. There is also an electrical distributor. Air supply is provided by an oil-free compressor. A compressed air drying system is also provided [4] [3] .
