TG e (diesel locomotive with idle transmission, power plant ) is a Soviet shunting diesel locomotive - a power plant manufactured by the Austrian plant Jenbacher Werke (Jenbacher Werke) . Shunting diesel locomotives MG3 were also produced on the basis of TG e [1] .

History
Diesel locomotives-electric power plants of TG e were built by the plant in 1958 and 1959 on the special assignment of the Ministry of Railways of the USSR . They were intended not so much for shunting work as for maintenance of track and construction machines, therefore they had such a feature as the so-called “creeping” mode - movement at a speed of 1-3 km / h, while supplying machines and mechanisms with a three-phase current. The exact number of TG e received in the USSR is unknown [1] , there is data only on TG e -027 [2] .
Design
The diesel locomotive-power plant was largely unified with the MG2 motor vehicles previously delivered to the Soviet Union. The twelve-cylinder two-stroke IW-600 diesel used on it differed from the IW-400 used on the MG2 only by increasing the cylinders from 8 to 12, which also increased its power from 400 to 600 hp. The torque from the diesel was transmitted through the L24UKG hydraulic transmission company Voith (Voith) , which differed from the L24V hydraulic transmission by the addition of a third torque converter , designed to transmit 150 hp of power. and included when working on the "creeping" mode. Further, the torque was transmitted to the SWV24 reverse gear, consisting of three shafts and seven gears. The gear ratio of the reverse gear on the shunting mode was 5.51, and on the train - 3.078. From the reverse gear, the torque was transmitted to the wheelsets via cardan shafts and C22 axial gears (5.25 gear ratio) from Maybach [1] .
To supply electricity to track machines and mechanisms, a synchronous three-phase generator FL 326 / 23-4 with a power of 300 kW was installed. The control circuit generator, diesel compressor (IW-20K), heater and heating boiler on TG e were the same as on MG1 and MG2 locomotives [3] .
The traction parameters of the diesel locomotive-power station TG e , depending on the modes, were as follows:
- “Creeping”: at a speed of 1 km / h , the thrust force is 11 750 kgf, at 3 km / h - 7000 kgf, the maximum speed is 10 km / h;
- Shunting: at a speed of 10 km / h, the thrust force is 10,000 kgf, at 30 km / h (maximum on mode) - 3,100 kgf;
- Train: at a speed of 20 km / h traction force 4800 kgf, at 60 km / h (maximum mode) - 1480 kgf
The structural speed of the locomotive (during transportation) is 80 km / h [3] .
MG3
Shunting diesel locomotives MG3 also produced by Jenbacher Werke entered the Soviet Union in 1958 . They differed from diesel locomotives and power plants of TG e in the absence of alternators and a body [3] .
