Biography
From the nobles of the Saratov province. Born December 14, 1838. After graduating from the course in the Konstantinovsky Cadet Corps and the Nikolaev Academy of the General Staff , in 1863 - at the very end of the Caucasian War - he was appointed to serve in the main headquarters of the Caucasian Army. In 1864, he was appointed to serve for special assignments on the part of the General Staff at the headquarters of the troops of the Dagestan region . In 1865 he was appointed senior assistant to the senior adjutant of the district headquarters of the Caucasian military district. In 1868 he was appointed senior adjutant of this headquarters. In 1870 he was appointed chief of staff of the local troops of the Transcaucasian Territory. In 1876 he was appointed chief inspector of the Georgian Military Highway . In 1878 he was appointed chief of staff of the local troops of the Caucasian Military District, in the same year he was appointed to be on special assignment under His Imperial Highness, the Commander-in-Chief of the Caucasian Army, Grand Duke Mikhail Nikolaevich , and the following year he was appointed to be at the disposal of His Highness. In 1880, the acting head of the Caucasus Postal District. In 1883, he was appointed military governor of the Kars region. From April 22, 1898 until the end of his life, he was a member of the Council of the Ministry of the Interior.
