Biography
He graduated from the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Moscow State University (1964). Pupil P.S. Aleksandrov [2] .
Candidate of physico-mathematical sciences (1967) [3] . After defending his dissertation, he worked at the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics until the end of his life.
Doctor of Physics and Mathematics (1977) [4] . Professor (1983). Head of the Department of General Topology and Geometry of the Mechanics and Mathematics Faculty of Moscow State University (1982-2012). Deputy vice-rector for scientific work of natural faculties (1985)
Director of the Baku branch of Moscow State University (2008-2012).
Author of over 150 scientific articles; raised more than 30 candidates and doctors of sciences [5] . Among the students: A. Ch. Chigogidze , A. N. Dranishnikov , M. V. Smurov , Yu. V. Sadovnichy , A. V. Karasev [6] .
