Career
In 1927, Stückelberg received a Ph. D. at the University of Basel . Its leader was .
In 1934, he developed a fully covariant perturbation theory for quantum fields . From this work, "The Stückelberg approach was much more powerful, but was not adopted by others at the time." Now, despite its advantages, this approach is almost forgotten. However, despite the obvious covariance, the Stückelberg method does not use a false vacuum . See also here .
Regardless of Hideki Yukawa , he developed a theoretical explanation of the strong interaction using vector exchange bosons in 1935.
He proposed the law of conservation of baryon numbers . [12]
In 1941, he proposed the interpretation of a positron as an electron with positive energy that moves backward in time. [13]
In 1976, he received the Planck Medal .
