Silver hydroxide is an inorganic compound, silver hydroxide with the formula AgOH, a white amorphous precipitate, decomposes in water. It shows amphoteric properties. The substance is unstable, and when it is obtained in an aqueous medium, it is hydrolyzed by water to silver oxide (I) using exchange reactions. However, in anhydrous methanol or ethanol, silver hydroxide is stable.
