Biography
Born in 1891 in the village of Perevlyas of the Prong district of the Ryazan province. Educated at a vocational school in the city of Sapozhko . At the age of 15, he went to his elder brother in Samara in search of work and livelihood. A year later he moved to Ufa, where he was hired by a mechanic at a railway depot. The beginning of his revolutionary activity dates back to this time: he joined the workers' social-democratic circle, distributed leaflets, delivered illegal literature.
In 1911, Vavilov joined the RSDLP (b) . He was soon fired as politically unreliable. Returning to Samara, with the help of his comrades, he got a job at a pipe factory . Here he took part in the work of the Social Democratic organization and the consumer society, which was under the influence of local Bolsheviks. In 1914, Vavilov was a member of the organizing committee for the May Day demonstration in Samara. On the eve of her, due to the alleged arrest, he was forced to hide and go to an illegal position. July 14, 1914 in Samara was one of the organizers of a demonstration of solidarity with workers of Baku enterprises . At the very beginning of World War I, he was arrested, but was soon released due to the lack of direct evidence against him. By order of the administration, he was dismissed from the factory. He returned to Ufa , where he was drafted into the army and sent to the front.
After the February Revolution, he returned to Ufa, again entering the railway depot. In August 1917, at the congress of road workers in Samara, Vavilov was elected chairman of the Main Committee of the Samara-Zlatoust Railway. After the October Revolution, Vavilov became the commissar of the road, a member of the Samara Provincial Executive Committee and the City Committee of the RCP (B.) .
In the spring of 1918 he participated in the organization of resistance to the rebelled Czechoslovak troops , was part of the military revolutionary headquarters, and with a detachment of Red Guards defended the approaches to the railway station. He was captured, together with other arrested people, he was sent first to Kresh station, and two weeks later in a prison death train - to Siberia , Omsk , where everyone was placed in a concentration camp for prisoners of war. With the help of local Bolsheviks, he escaped and remained underground in Omsk .
Vavilov participated in the Second Siberian underground party conference of the Bolsheviks in Tomsk, was elected to the Siberian Regional Committee; was the head of the military revolutionary headquarters; carried out great organizational work on the preparation of the anti-Kolchak uprisings on December 22, 1918 and February 1, 1919 in Omsk . On the night of February 1, he entered the barracks of the Novonikolayevsky regiment with the aim of raising a soldier to revolt, but was arrested. I ran along the road. Immediately after the escape, Vavilov took part in the preparation of a new party conference, which took place in Omsk on March 20-21, 1919 . Shortly after her, on April 2, he and several other Bolsheviks were arrested and after interrogation and torture they were shot on April 18, 1919 .
