Description
It occupies a quarter in the perimeter of the fortress streets - Aleksandrovskaya, 1st Officer, Hospital. The main facade with a pediment overlooks the Commandant Garden . Address: st. Gostitalya, 6.
History
A two-story building in the shape of a rectangle, a courtyard built of brick and plastered, rustication of the walls, according to the project of the St. Petersburg architect Alexander Staubert . Construction began in 1820, completed in 1827, for 600 people. Across Aleksandrovskaya street is the former morgue of the hospital. An operating room with a huge light window is arranged on the second floor; a water curtain in the operating room was used for hygiene purposes. With all state entities in the period 1827-1994, it was a medical institution. Upon the withdrawal of Russian units from Latvia, 100% safety and operability were transferred. Then it was busted and failed. The area of the building is 10 thousand m².

- On May 13, 2011, an episode of the German film “Our Fathers, Our Mothers” was filmed at the building, a hospital building in the city of Chernihiv, autumn 1941 [1] [2] [3] .
- On September 2-15, 2013, the Telpa Daugavpils theater workshop of young directors took place in the building [4] [5] [6] .
- On August 19-28, 2014 the second festival-laboratory “Telpa Daugavpils” [7] [8] was held in the building.
Future
The city plans to organize a business center, a building reconstruction project has been written, investments in the project reach 4.5 million lats. There are no investors yet.
