Li Fengying

Li Fengying ( Chinese trad. 黎 鋒 英 , ex. 黎 锋 英 , pinyin : Lí Fēngyīng ; born January 21, 1975 , Zixing , Hunan Province , PRC ) is a Taiwanese weightlifter and member of the Taiwan national team . Silver medalist at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games in the under 53 kg category.

She started weightlifting from the age of 13. Subsequently, she was selected for weightlifting at a sports school in Chenzhou under the supervision of coach Wang Xiang. In 1990, she joined the women's team in Hunan Province .

In 1993, at the Asian Weightlifting Championships, she met with Taiwanese athlete Zhong Yongji. At the 1994 World Weightlifting Championships in Istanbul , Turkey, winning in a jerk, she lost in the clean and jerk to the Indian athlete Karnam Malleshvari . After this World Cup, Li Fengying left the PRC weightlifting team.

In 1995, she married Zhong Yongji and from that time began to play for the national team of the Republic of China. In 1999, in Athens and in 2001 in Antalya, she became the two-time world champion in the under 53 kg category.

At the 2000 Olympics, she lifted a total of 212.5 kg (jerk - 97.5 kg, push - 115 kg) [2] and lost only to Yang Xia, an athlete representing the PRC. Moreover, the result in the snatch - 97.5 kg - set a world record, but Yang Xia, lifting 100 kg in the snatch, broke this achievement in the same competitions.

In 2004, after unsuccessful performances at the 2002 and 2003 world championships, where she could not take the declared weights, she ended her career and received a master 's degree . Since 2008, he has been working as a coach of the national weightlifting team in the Ganshan District of Kaohsiung City .
