Gratitude of the President of the Philippines ( English Philippine Republic Presidential Unit Citation ) - a military award , which is awarded by the Government of the Philippines [1] . Basically, several United States forces were awarded for their actions during and after World War II . The award was created in 1946 and retroactively awarded to all military personnel who served in the Philippines or participated in their liberation during World War II. The second time the award was given to the Philippine and American units during natural disasters that occurred in the Philippines from August 1 to December 15, 1970 and from July 21 to August 15, 1972.

In February 2005, the President of the Philippines, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, awarded special forces whose activities are aimed at reducing the threat of terrorism, assisting in the training of troops, social and economic activities and civil engineering in Basilan and Zamboanga .
