History
The original name Andreevskaya Street has been known since 1909, given by the name of one of the owners of Krestovsky Island from the family of Princes Belozersky-Beloselsky Andrei Mikhailovich [2] .
The modern name Sportivnaya Street was assigned on November 12, 1962, due to the fact that there were sports facilities nearby - Dynamo and Petrel stadiums [2] .
In 1947, a tram was launched throughout the street. Due to the closure of tram traffic on the Lazarevsky Bridge in 2003, the tram stopped running from the bridge to Krestovsky Prospekt . The tram continued on the section from Morskoy Avenue and Grebnaya Street to Krestovsky Avenue . In 2007, the tram traffic in this section was closed, as a result of which the tram stopped traveling all over the street. The rails and partially the contact network remained on the street until its reconstruction in the late 2000s . As a result, the tram traffic on the island was finally closed.
