Biography

Nina Iosifovna Matyash was born on September 20, 1943 in a peasant family in the village of Niva, Berezovsky district, Brest region . She graduated from Berezovsky secondary school (1960), entered the faculty of the French language of the Minsk State Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages . Due to illness, she was forced to take academic leave (she graduated from the Institute in 1966). In 1973–1977, she worked as a teacher of German at the Belozersk Vocational School. She died on December 19, 2008 [1] .

  • Laureate of the A. Kuleshov Literary Prize of the Belarusian Writers' Union (1984)
  • Laureate of the All-Belarusian Youth Festival dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Komsomol (1970) for poems about youth.
