Vihiga is a city in the western province of Kenya . Administratively, it is located within the district of the same name. The city is located five kilometers south of the equator, on the road connecting the cities of Kisumu and Kakamega . Wihiga is located on the eastern side of the Kakamega National Forest.

As of 2012, 27,127 people lived in the village [1] . The main population of the city is the maragoli ethnic group (one of the constituents of the Luha people), most of whom are Quakers .
