Dinstleiter ( German: Dienstleiter der NSDAP ) - one of the highest party ranks in Nazi Germany in 1933-1945. The title was introduced after the Nazis came to power in 1933 and became the fourth highest party rank in the NSDAP system of party ranks (the first three are the Reichsleiter , Gauleiter , Befelsleiter ) [1]
In the process of liquidating the old state apparatus, all positions in the German government were occupied by members of the NSDAP. The “dinstleiter” title had an offshoot in the form of the higher rank “Hauptsteenter” ( German: Hauptdienstleiter ). Persons who were awarded these ranks held leadership positions in the NSDAP and the government.
World War II
In 1939, an intermediate title was introduced - Oberdienstleiter ( German: Oberdienstleiter ). It was above the rank of dinsteiler, but below the guardhouse. Among the famous people who had the title of dinsteler were: Gerhard Klopfer , who also had an honorary rank in the SS - SS groupenführer and participated in the Wannsee conference and Albert Speer (later he was awarded the title of befelsleiter ). According to Speer at the Nuremberg Tribunal , the rank of Hauptdinsteiler in the NSDAP corresponded to the military rank of Major General in the Wehrmacht [2]
