Three-dimensional city models - a digital representation of the Earth’s surface and related objects in urban areas [1] (cities, factories, buildings [2] , etc.). The following languages are often used as three-dimensional modeling languages: en: CityGML , Shapefile , KML, and other formats .

Three-dimensional city models are used:
- for visualization of cities for various purposes (tourism, virtual tour, computer game),
- for urban development [3] ,
- in navigation systems [4] ,
- in intelligent transport systems [5] ,
- for modeling noise [6] ,
- for thermographic examinations ( English thermographic inspection ) [7] [8] (see also: thermography ).
