History
Until the beginning of the XI century, seven small settlements were located on the current administrative territory of the village of Kuli. History is known for many aggressive wars against the peaceful, fragmented population of mountainous Dagestan. Repeated foreign conquerors inflicted difficult damage to the population and the economy of the village, but could not subjugate and evict from freedom places the freedom-loving and rebellious Kulintsy. These events became an occasion for all small settlements to unite, build the Khunchuy fortress at the very top of the Barzilu settlement and settle around this fortress. From this time begins the history of the village of Cooley.
The first high school was opened in 1925, and the second in 1974.
In 1935 a collective farm was created to them. Garuna Saidova. The leading industry was livestock . The collective farm had more than 60 thousand sheep , 4 thousand head of cattle , 400 horses. Today, the economy is in decline.
A suspension bridge was built in the center of the village, called the Linkӏatӏi Lama by the Kulintsy
Part of the population in 1944 was relocated to the right-bank part of the village of Yaryksu-Aukh, Aukhov district (now the village of Novokuli, Novolaksky district ).
