In the 2012 presidential election, the residents of the canton voted in the 1st round of Marine Le Pen 27.3% of the votes against 26.6% of Francois Hollande and 23.9 of Nicolas Sarkozy , in the 2nd round, Hollande won, receiving 52 , 0% of the vote (2007 1st round: Sarkozy - 27.6%, Segolen Royal - 22.0%; 2nd round: Sarkozy - 52.1%).
