Preobrazhensky Plant

Preobrazhensky Plant is a smelter in the Orenburg province near the Zilair River. City-forming enterprise. Around the plant, where up to 650 factory peasants and artisans worked, a settlement of the same name grew, now the village of Zilair . Built in 1750. The owners are Ya. B. Tverdyshev and I. S. Myasnikov [1] .

Residents of the village Preobrazhensky Zavod in October 1773 joined the Pugachev uprising and until the beginning of April 1774 held it in their hands. [2] At the end of May, Bashkir rebels destroyed and burned industrial buildings and structures, and disabled equipment. Restoration work lasted more than two years, and only in the fall of 1776 did the plant resume production. [3] [4]

In 1783, G. I. Bibikov sold the Preobrazhensky Plant to Dmitry Kuzmich Krasheninnikov, an eminent citizen of Orenburg, a brother of Natalia Kuzminichnaya. In 1789, he sold the plant to the eminent citizen Pyotr Mikhailovich Gusyatnikov of Moscow for 200 thousand rubles.
