Vintage Dead was released without the consent or assistance of the group [4] . However, this is not a clandestine, but a completely legal record [5] . Vintage Dead was released on Sunflower Records, a subsidiary of MGM Records. The album reached 127 positions in the Billboard 200 rating [6] . It was released on long-playing records, but did not go on sale again, nor was it released on CD.
Historic Dead is the next for the Vintage Dead album from Sunflower Records, recorded at the Avalon Ballroom in 1966.
