About the album
Young created his own 1959 Lincoln Continental , converted to use clean fuels, to create an album called Fork in the Road ( Rus. Fork ). The car, modified by Neal and the mechanic Jonathan Goodwin, received a new name LincVolt. Fork in the Road is a concept album addressing the harmful effects of the automotive industry on climate in the context of the global economic crisis. [1] The song of the same name with the album was nominated for a Grammy Award in the category "Best Solo Vocal Rock Performance". [2]
Reviews
The album was received critically by the critics. Will Hermes from Rolling Stone described him as “dirty, funny, and in some places pretty crazy, like when Young growls“ Cough up the bucks! ”( Rus. Cough up your bucks ! ).” [3] Reviewers from The Observer and musicOMH Caspar Smith and Scott Sinclair generally agreed with Hermes. [4] [5] The album took 19th place on the Billboard 200 and 15th on the Canadian album chart. [6]
