Biography
Ruslan Baltzer was born in Riga in 1972 (according to other sources [1] [2] - in the city of Klaipeda , Lithuanian SSR , but in an interview Baltzer says that he is a native of Riga [3] ).
He has 4 incomplete higher educations: he studied at the architectural department of the Riga Polytechnic University (1989-1992), at the Moscow Institute of Culture (2000-2001).
He came to Russia with his wife (Alexandra Bolshakova), who, according to him, then entered the Moscow Institute.
In 2002, Baltzer shoots his debut film - a youth comedy “ Don't even think about it! , Which brings unprecedented success to a young director. A year later, the film “ Shadow of Independence ” was released, a sequel to the film “Don't even think about it,” which paid off in film distribution but received mixed (mostly negative) criticism.
The following Baltzer films have not earned such a success as "Don't even think about it." In 2005, the movie “Dreaming is Not Harmful” was released, in which Baltzer was a screenwriter. According to Baltzer himself, he came up with the idea of the film “To Dream is Not Harmful” long before the release of the first film, the former school friends of Baltzer turned out to be the prototypes of the characters of the future comedy.
Then came the next youth comedy " Insatiable ", which fell through in the box office in 2006. A year later, the film “ Bold Days ” was released, which also did not win success.
In 2010, the film “V Centuria: In Search of Enchanted Treasures” is released, where Ruslan himself starred in a cameo role.
As a director, he shot clips of “ Tanok on Independence Konґo ” and “ Uma2rman ” music bands, singer Alexei Vorobiev.
