Lara Logan-Burkett ( Lara Logan-Burkett ; March 29, 1971 , Durban , South Africa ) is a South African journalist and television presenter , often acting as a war correspondent . Winner of the News & Documentary Emmy Award (2007, 2011).

Personal life
In 1998-2008, Lara was married to a basketball player Jason Simon.
Since November 2008, Lara has been married for the second time to US defense contractor Joseph Burkett the fourth. In this marriage, Logan gave birth to two children - the son of Joseph Washington, Barquette the fifth (born December 29, 2008) and the daughter of Lola Ann Barkett (born March 4, 2010) [1] .
Beating and Rape
On February 11, 2011 , during her work as a war correspondent in Cairo ( Egypt ), Lara was beaten and raped by about 200-300 people and the whole action lasted about 25 minutes [2] . The next day, Logan was taken to an American hospital, where she spent the next 4 days. None of the perpetrators of these acts were punished.
