Red - small river in the Smolensk region , the left tributary of the river Sozh . The length is several kilometers. It begins within the village of Krasnoe , flows through Nikolayevka , Cherepovishche, and flows into SOG beyond the outskirts of the latter.

In Cherepovishche on the river there is a pond, the water of which in the XIX century was used to bring into action a sawmill located in this village.
In the Plans of the General Survey of Smolensk Province (1780-1790) it is designated as the river of Vosts .
