Ulyanov, Vladimir Vasilievich

Vladimir Vasilyevich Ulyanov (born September 20, 1953 ) is a Russian mathematician , doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, professor of the department of mathematical statistics of the faculty of the Moscow Naval University named after MV Lomonosov [1] .

Biography

Born September 20, 1953 in the village of Korovino, Bondar district, Tambov region. In 1970 he graduated from high school in Krasnodar, in 1975 - the faculty of computational mathematics and cybernetics of Moscow State University , then he studied at the graduate school of the faculty of the VMK from 1975 to 1978.

Candidate of physico-mathematical sciences (1978), thesis: “Refinement of the estimates of the rate of convergence in the central limit theorem” (supervisor VV Sazonov)

Doctor of physico-mathematical sciences (1994), thesis: “Gaussian approximation in a Hilbert space” [2] .

Academic title - Associate Professor (1989); member of the Bernoulli Society for Mathematical Statistics and Probability at the International Statistical Institute (1986); winner of the Lenin Komsomol Prize in Science (1987) for a series of works on limit theorems of probability theory; scholarship fund named after A. Humboldt (1991-1992). He was awarded the medal "In memory of the 850th anniversary of Moscow" (1997) [3] .

He has been working at the faculty of the VMK of Moscow State University since 1978, and teaches at the Department of Mathematical Statistics as an assistant (1978-1989), assistant professor (1989-1998), and professor (since 1998). In 1990-1993 - doctoral candidate at the Mathematical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences .

He lectures at the faculty of the VMK Moscow State University : “Mathematical foundations of probability theory”, “Paradoxes and counterexamples in probability theory”, “Probability theory and mathematical statistics”. At the Moscow State University Branch in Sevastopol, he teaches the course "Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics." Prepared one candidate of science. The author of 16 books and more than 110 scientific papers [4] [5] .
