Creativity
Richter was a characteristic representative of the so-called “Mannheim school”, which played a large role in the transition from baroque to classicism in music. Richter's own works have both gallant style features and pre-classical elements. The main field of activity of the composer was orchestral music - he wrote more than 70 symphonies (including 12 "Big Symphonies") and a number of concerts for various instruments with an orchestra, as well as six string quartets and the same number of trio sonatas for flute. Among other works - the oratorio “Exaltation of the Holy Cross” ( Italian: La deposizione dalla croce di Gesú Christo , 1748 ), three requiem, Te Deum, 30 masses, 40 motets. Richter also owns a textbook on harmony and composition ( German: Harmonische Belehrungen ; 1761 - 1767 , published in 1809 ).
