Biography
From the spiritual rank. He was born on February 1, 1842. In 1868, he completed a course at the Medical and Surgical Academy with a medical degree, and was awarded the first gold medal and the Bush Prize . In 1871, upon presentation and public defense of a dissertation, a study on the nutritional properties of meat and peas, received a doctorate in medicine. In 1872, he was sent for improvement in science for 2 years abroad. In 1875 he was appointed privat-docent in physiology at the Medical and Surgical Academy. In 1876 he was transferred to the Imperial Kazan University as an extraordinary professor in the Department of Physiology at the Department of Natural Sciences of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics.
In the 1877-1878 academic year, he taught the students of the 2nd medical faculty a physiology course and from that same year until the introduction of the new university charter, he taught a short course in human anatomy and human physiology at the Faculty of Law and a short course in physiology for pharmacists. Since 1884 he taught a systematic course of descriptive human anatomy. In 1885 he was approved as an ordinary professor. In addition to a professor, in 1878 he was a candidate for a university judge, from 1878 to 1886 a secretary, and from 1886 to 1889 the dean of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics. He was twice the chairman of the test commission at the University of Kazan at the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics. From February 3, 1891 until half of 1895 he was a fellow chairman of the construction commission for the construction of the library building of Kazan University. On December 16, 1889, by the High Command, he was appointed Rector of the Imperial Kazan University from the presentation of the Minister of Public Education , and remained in this post until his death in 1899.
