Biography
Descended from the hereditary nobles of the Tauride province . Born on April 21 ( May 3 ), 1853 .
He received his initial education at the Simferopol Classical Gymnasium , where he graduated with a gold medal, then graduated from law school at Kharkov University with a degree in law.
From the beginning of 1876 he was in the service of the naval judicial department. He took part, as editor of the clerk, in the writings of the commission for the revision of the decisions on commercial shipping. At the same time participated in other commissions for the maritime department.
From 1879 to 1887 he was also an honorary justice of the peace in the Theodosia world district.
In 1887 he was appointed comrade of the chief naval prosecutor; In 1888, he was promoted to state councilor .
From March 12, 1890 until 1906, he served as Chief Naval Prosecutor of the Russian Empire. A. P. Chekhov replied about this appointment: “He is the kindest person, and I wish him all the best from the heart” [1] .
From 1891, he was a full state councilor , from 1900 - a secret councilor , from 1915 a real secret councilor . From August 3, 1905 was present in the Governing Senate .
He was shot by the Bolsheviks in September 1918.
