It is located 47 km northwest of the city of Novosokolniki and 5 km north of the volost center, the village of Runovo .

The population of the village as of 2000 was 30 people [1] , in 2010 - 25 people .

Until 2005, the village was part of the now abolished Ostrovsky volost with its center in the village of Ostrovka .
