Story
Paris, France. For the construction of the metro line, two workers are preparing to demolish the old Catholic church. Suddenly, they find hidden rooms that are not indicated on construction plans. Having penetrated there, they discover many cult objects and artifacts . Out of the darkness, an unknown creature attacks them.
Jack Randall (Balfour), a young scientist and specialist in the elements of Gothic architecture, and his girlfriend Carol Beckham (Clark) infiltrate mysterious dungeons at night, which stopped working due to two “accidents”. The girl takes several unknown drop-shaped artifacts. An incomprehensible horror forces scientists to leave the basements. At night, a gargoyle attacks Carol in her apartment. In the morning, Jack discovers the girl’s corpse. For police inspector Ghibert (Daffydd), he becomes the prime suspect. Randall's unexpected ally is journalist Nicole Ricard (Nero), who realized that the gargoyle was hunting eggs (artifacts taken from Carol's dungeons), and her assistant Walsh (Selinger). With a supply of research and military equipment, in search of new information, the three of them go to the old church. There they are joined by her former abbot, Father Gable (Mancuso). After dangerous wanderings in the catacombs of the cellars, they manage to find the gargoyle's nest and destroy the remaining eggs. The monster itself is killed by Gable's father, along with him undermining himself with explosives.

Reviews and criticism
Film Critics United Reviewer Christopher Amsted [1] :
You will rarely see a gargoyle in this film that the best name for it would be “A Hint of the Gargoyle”. Even in the finale, when the heroes are fighting this creature, we still do not see the monster, because it flies very fast. Surprisingly, Gargoyle Awakening is not the worst movie ever made. I am not saying that he is good, because he is not even close to good. But this is a watchable, albeit one-time, small film.
The critic Greg Roberts [2] gives a similar assessment in his revue:
The story itself is quite interesting. But the gargoyle (and even that only one) appears for only six minutes of screen time. It is unlikely that this is enough to seem dangerous or to give a name to the film in honor of itself.
Discussing the technical side of the picture, the gutmunchers.com website states that all special effects are performed in CGI graphics, without any attempt to combine it with full-scale shooting. But since the authors of the film “hide” the gargoyle most of the time, this is practically not noticeable. However, according to the observer, “Gargoyle Awakening” contains a number of worthy effects for its budget [3] .
