It is located 15 km northwest of the city of Novosokolniki and 14 km south of the volost center, the village of Gorozhane .
The population of the village as of 2000 was 242 people [1] , in 2010 - 184 people.
Until January 1, 2006, the village was part of the now abolished Ramensky volost as its administrative center.
