History
In the village of Terebeni, a wooden 18th-century Resurrection Church with two aisles - Varvarinsky and Signs - has been preserved. Pogost Terebeni and the Resurrection Church are mentioned in the Pskov scribe books of the late 16th century. The first known description of the church dates back to 1764. It is listed in the Pskov diocese of the Opocheck order, the Terebensky churchyard by the Terebenka river. Not far from the Terebeni is the Golenishchev-Kutuzov estate - Stupino (nowadays not preserved). In the cemetery near the temple, the family crypt of the landowners of the Lvovs, the graves of the landowners Karaulovs and several ancient stone crosses have been preserved.
Church of the Resurrection of Christ
The church of the Terebeni churchyard was built in 1757, a temple of the “octagon on four” type, pillarless, on a stone foundation, chopped “in the paw”, wooden with a multi-tiered bell tower. Under the temple is the crypt of the parents of Field Marshal M.I. Golenishchev-Kutuzov .
The central chapel in the Name of the Holy Resurrection was consecrated in 1791, its walls are upholstered with canvas in the 19th century.
The iconostasis of the central aisle repeats the outline facade of the Peter and Paul Cathedral in St. Petersburg. The temple was built by the father of Field Marshal M.I. Kutuzov - Illarion . Two chapels in the temple: in the name of the Icon of the Mother of God of the Sign and the Great Martyr Barbara.
In 1778 the Varvarinsky chapel and the Sign were consecrated, perhaps it was Petrovsky. In the church’s subchurch, the tomb of the parents of M. I. Kutuzov — Illarion Matveevich Golenishchev-Kutuzov (1717–1784) and his wife Anna Illarionovna [2] . Church of the Resurrection of the Saying, Opocheck district, village of Terebeni.
The temple is active, from 1989 to August 9, 2014, Rector Priest Georgy Mitsov. Since August 2016, Priest Nikolai Dzyk was appointed rector.
