Eskhata Bank ( Tajik. Bonki Eskhata , Eng. Eskhata Bank ) is a Tajik commercial bank , one of the largest commercial banks in Tajikistan, which is one of the five leaders in the country's banking sector. History
OJSC “Eskhata Bank” is an open joint stock company created in the Republic of Tajikistan in accordance with the memorandum of association on November 16, 1993 as a commercial bank “Eskhata”. In accordance with the decision of the meeting of the founders of May 28, 1999, the bank was transformed into a joint-stock commercial bank "Eskhata". On September 12, 2002, the bank was re-registered as Open Joint-Stock Company “Bank Eskhata”. [3]
The activities of the Bank are regulated by the National Bank of Tajikistan in accordance with license number 16, issued on November 29, 1994. The founders of Bank Eskhata OJSC are individuals resident in the Republic of Tajikistan . A major non-resident shareholder is the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development [3] .
The main activities of the bank are lending to micro small and medium-sized businesses, cash management services, foreign exchange transactions , documentary operations, consumer lending , accepting and placing deposits from individuals and legal entities , operations with plastic cards , opening savings accounts and money transfers .
Bank Name
The name of the bank comes from the name of the city of Khujand in the 4th century BC, when Alexander the Great , capturing the Achaemenid empire , named the city of Alexandria Eskhat (from the ancient Greek Ἐσχάτη - extreme, distant [4] . This bank is the only bank in Tajikistan, the central administration which is located outside the capital of the republic - the city of Dushanbe (ie, in the city of Khujand). [5]

The bank's operating income amounted to 226 559 218 somoni, and net profit for 2015 amounted to 26 238 060 somoni, [2] The loan portfolio at the end of 2015 amounted to 925 989 723 somoni excluding interbank loans. Also, a quantitative growth of customers was noted for 7 thousand people. At the end of 2015, the total number of active customers amounted to 61,617 people. . In 2015, the volume of term deposits of private individuals amounted to 539,425,648 somoni, which is 30% more than in 2014. At the end of 2015, the volume of money transfers issued to the population amounted to 1,115,453,412 US dollars. The number of plastic card holders as of December 31, 2015 was 63,778. The total number of salary projects amounted to 616 projects. As of December 31, 2015, there were 73 ATMs and 228 Pos – terminals.
In 2015, income from customer service operations was received in the amount of Somoni 6 579 169.93. In general, in 2015, 1,777 new accounts of legal entities and private entrepreneurs were opened throughout the Bank's system.
