Geography
The area has an area of 1760 km², making it the ninth largest area in England. East Lindsay was formed on April 1, 1974 from the southeastern part of the former county of Lindsay . The municipal district includes the rural districts of Elford, Horncastle, Sutton, Waitzy, Woodhill and others.
East Lindsay borders Northeast Lincolnshire and the Humber in the north, the North Sea in the east, the Boston area in the south and North Kestiven and West Lindsay in the west. On the border between East Lindsey and North Kestiven, the Watham River flies.

According to the 2011 census, the population of the district is 136,400 people, a density of 78 people per km².
