Born in the city of Dolores Hidalgo , Mexico. At the age of 4, he moved with his family to Texas , USA. In school, he began to engage in athletics, and later became the state champion in cross-country .

Career

He took part in the Beijing Olympics, but completed his performance at the semifinal stage, in which he took only 11th place. A year later, at the world championship in Berlin, he took 12th place. In 2012, he became the champion of the United States and received a ticket to the Olympic Games in London, where he won a silver medal with a result of 3.34.79. He played at the 2013 World Cup in Moscow, but could not reach the final. On February 15, he performed at Millrose Games , where he took 7th place in the 1 mile race with a personal record of 3.56.73.

He currently resides in Austin , Texas .
