Drafted into the Armed Forces of the USSR on August 31, 1956 . In 1956 he entered the Alma-Ata Higher Command Border School from the army, from which he graduated in 1959. From September 2, 1965 to August 13, 1970 - head of physical training and sports of the 2nd branch of the headquarters of the 81st border detachment. From August 13, 1970 to July 16, 1974, he was the head of the 4th border outpost of the 81st border detachment. From July 16, 1974 to July 4, 1977 - deputy commandant of the border commandant's command "Ayvaj" of the 81st border detachment. From July 4, 1977 to September 12, 1980 - deputy commandant of the border commandant’s office, then chief of the 2nd branch of the headquarters of the 47th border detachment. Since 1979 - head of the 2nd branch of the headquarters of the 47th border detachment. From October 10, 1980 to June 10, 1981 - temporarily acting as commandant of the border commandant’s office of the 47th border detachment.

In the Republic of Afghanistan since June 10, 1981 , military missions performed since October 1981 . From June 10, 1981 to October 12, 1983 - chief of staff - deputy chief, then head of the motorized maneuver group of the 67th Kara-Kalin border detachment (military unit 2047; Kufab gorge, Badakhshan province).
