Black elder ( Latin Phyteuma nigrum ) - a species of dicotyledonous flowering plants included in the genus Kolnik ( Phyteuma ) of the Campanulaceae family.

Botanical Description
Rumped roundwort - a perennial herb with a rhizome , reaching 75 cm in height. Stems erect, bare. The leaves are numerous, collected in a basal rosette, on rather long stalks, heart-shaped or ovoid, blunt, sparse leaves are also on the stem, they are almost without stalks, narrow, with a serrated edge.
Flowers in spherical or ovoid inflorescences at the ends of the stems, with small oblong bracts. Calyx light green, glabrous, with pointed sepals. Corolla is strongly curved, purple-black, gray-blue or blue. Stamens with thickened threads down. Pestle dark, with two or three stigmas.
The fruit is a green box with numerous small shiny seeds .
Range
Black kolnik in natural conditions is widespread in Western and Central Europe. According to some reports, it is found in the Moscow Region as an introduced species.
