Group

Despite its short existence, the group made a huge contribution to the spread of the early 90s trans- movement in Germany.

Back in 1991, the band released several tracks, but later, in 1993, they released their legendary track - Café del Mar, which was bought by Eye Q in 1993 and became one of the most popular hits of the decade and was re-recorded and re-edited at the end 90s, when trance reached the peak of popularity. The track was created by Paul and Harold together, before that they worked on the Eternity and State of Mind 1991 records, but none of them even came close to the success of Café del Mar, which included the tracks of both albums. No one from Energy 52 has ever released any tracks like Café del Mar.

Café del Mar

The composition was inspired by the work of “Struggle for Pleasure” by Wim Mertens in Ibiza Sunset Cafe, Cafe Del Mar - Paul is inspired by the energetic part of this track's piano.

Returning to Germany, Paul and Harold began recording this song for the dance floor - the legendary Café Del Mar was born. The name of the track refers us to the legendary Café del Mar-resort town on the coast of the island of Ibiza, famous for its unique atmosphere and annually produced collections of music. Café del Mar has become the most hit trance track in the world. His remixes appeared in hundreds of albums. In April 2011, the track took the first place in the rating of the Top 20 dance tracks of the last twenty years on BBC Radio 1.
