Degen Gebremeskel is an Ethiopian long distance runner . The bronze medalist of the 2011 World Cup and the silver medalist of the 2012 Olympic Games in the 5000 meter race .

Silver medalist at the 10 km run of World's Best 10K 2011 with a score of 27.45. At the 2012 indoor championship, he took 5th place at a distance of 3000 meters. At the Diamond League stage in Paris on July 6, 2012, he became the winner at a distance of 5000 meters with a result of 12.46.81 - this is the 5th result in history.

Four-time Carlsbad 5000 run winner. At the 2013 Folksam Grand Prix , he won the 10,000-meter race with a score of 26.51.02.
