Karmanovsky district is an administrative-territorial unit within the Western and Smolensk regions of the RSFSR that existed in 1929-1960.

Karmanovsky district was formed as part of the Rzhevsky District of the Western Region in 1929. The center of the district was the village of Karmanovo . The district was formed from territories formerly included in the Gzhatsky and Sychevsky districts of the Smolensk province .
In 1930, the Rzhevsky District was abolished, and the Karmanovsky District became directly subordinate to the Western Region.
In May 1930, the Novoaleksandrovsky c / s was transferred from the Karmanovsky district to the Shakhovsk district of the Moscow region [3] .
In 1937, the Karmanovsky district became part of the Smolensk region.
In 1960, the Karmanovsky district was abolished, and its territory was transferred to the Gzhatsky district [4] .
