The Supreme Court of Benin ( French Cour Suprême du Benin ) is the highest judicial authority in the Republic of Benin .

It is the highest court for courts of general jurisdiction (in civil and criminal cases), it considers administrative disputes and cases related to the spending of the state budget , that is, it performs the functions of a financial control body. He is also authorized to monitor local elections.
The main objective of the court is to ensure compliance with the law, strengthening the rule of law and democracy. Its decisions are not subject to further appeal and are binding on the executive and legislative branches, as well as other bodies.
The Supreme Court may, at the request of the President, prepare a bill in the field of its activity and submit it to the National Assembly for consideration.
The President of the Court is appointed by the President of the Republic for a period of five years after agreement with the President of the National Assembly. Candidates are selected among high-level judges and lawyers with at least fifteen years of professional experience.
