“Poplar of horror” is a monument in Banja Luka , erected by the authorities of the Republika Srpska in memory of the victims of the Croatian concentration camp “ Jasenovac ” [1] . It is located in the city center, on the square of the victims of Jasenovac in front of the building of the National Assembly of the Republika Srpska.
The monument was opened on April 22, 2007 by the Prime Minister of the Republic, Milorad Dodik . It was named after the place of mass executions in Jasenovac, where under a dried poplar, Ustashi massacred people en masse. The structure is 8 meters high and 3.3 meters wide and is made of stainless steel .
