Sukkur ( Urdu ضلع سکھر , eng. Sukkur District ) is one of the 23 districts of Pakistan ’s Sindh province. The administrative center is the city of Sukkur .

Geography
The area of the district is 5,165 km². In the north it borders with the Kashmor and Gotka districts , in the north-west with the district of Shikarpur , in the south with the Khairpur district, in the east with the territory of India .

Population
According to the 1998 census , the population of the district was 908,373 people, of whom men accounted for 53.19%, women - respectively 46.81%. The literacy rate of the population (10 years and older) was 46.6%. The level of urbanization - 50.87%. The average population density is 175.9 people / km².
