Life and career

Joel Carter was born in Georgia, but grew up moving around the country due to the fact that her father was a military man. After graduating from high school, she entered Augusta State University, where she received a sports scholarship as a swimmer and runner, and also worked as a model for some time [1] .

Joel Carter has appeared in dozens of television shows and films since the mid-nineties. Carter is best known for her role in the FX series Justice , with Timothy Olyphant , in which she starred from 2010 to 2015 [1] . The role brought her a nomination for the “ Choice of Television Critics ” award in 2015 [2] . She also appeared on television in the series Scandal , Castle , Anatomy of Passion , Investigation into the Body , Detective Monk , The Third Change and Law and Order [3] . On the big screen, she starred in several independent films, and at the beginning of her career appeared in the films When They Love Me , American Pie 2 , Zealot , and The Horse Whisperer .

In 2016, Carter was invited to co-star in the NBC series Justice of Chicago, a spin-off of Chicago Police [2] .
