Turusbekova, Lilya Zhusupovna

Lilya Zhusupovna Turusbekova ( May 8, 1933 , Frunze , Kyrgyz SSR , USSR - January 7, 2001 ) - Soviet film director. Honored Artist of the Kyrgyz SSR (1979).

Biography

Born May 8, 1933 in the city of Frunze in the family of a Kyrgyz writer and poet Zhusup Turusbekov . After graduating from high school in 1951, she entered the directing department of VGIK . Since 1955, after graduating from VGIK, she began independent creative activity at the Frunze studio of chronicles and documentaries. She rented and edited two issues of the Soviet Kirghizia newsreel. In the future, for more than twenty years, the director was engaged in film periods.

In 1956, she released her first film essay by L. Turusbekova “Silver Water”, dedicated to the metallurgists of Kadamdzhaya. The second film “They were born in the Tien Shan” (1957) spoke about the achievements in the economy and culture of the republic over 40 years of Soviet power. In the films “Me and My Friends”, “Your Friends” (1961, 1962), L. Turusbekova was attracted to the lyrical film story.

In 1967, Lilya Turusbekova shot the full-length film "Following the Spring." In 1974, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Communist Party of Kyrgyzstan and the Kirghiz SSR, Lily Turusbekova created the feature film “Soviet Kyrgyzstan”.

Her film “The Bolsheviks Pishpek” (1977) was dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Great October. It is based on a small archive photo material about A. Ivanitsyn, Y. Logvinenko, G. Shvets-Bazarny, K. Sarykulov, I. Kobekov and other fighters for Soviet power in Kyrgyzstan.
