Nanobi

Nanobes are microscopic structures, according to some scientists, representing a life form (the tiniest of all existing).

Nanobes have a diameter of about 20 nanometers (10 times smaller than the smallest bacteria ).

Nanobes were first discovered in 1996 in the sandstones of the Triassic and Jurassic periods, extracted from oil wells to the west of the coast of Australia , from a depth of 3400-5100 m below the seabed. An article about their discovery was published in 1998 [1] . In the future, it was also reported about the discovery of similar structures in the thickness of the rocks of the Martian meteorite ALH 84001 .

The original article stated that nanobes have a cellular structure and morphology close to actinomycetes and fungi , contain DNA, and also that they have shown growth under aerobic conditions. However, it was not possible to find evidence of their reproduction or the presence of metabolism.

Critics of the theory claim: there is no evidence that nanobits and nanobacteria are living organisms; they may actually be fragments of larger organisms (in favor of which the diversity of their size and shape is evidence); There is a shortage of reliable data on their size (diameter varies from 0.02 to 0.128 μm ) and it is stated that the size of nanobits is less than the minimum possible size (volume 0.014–0.06 μm³, diameter 0.14–0.3 μm) required for placements of DNA , RNA , ribosomes, and other necessary components of a living organism [2] .
