Adventism in Finland ( Finnish. Adventismi Suomessa ) - a collection of followers of the Adventist religious teachings in Finland , registered in the country as the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Finland .
History
The first Adventist missionary appeared on the territory of the country in 1892 and two years later founded the first Adventist parish in Helsinki . In 1996, there were 55 church parishes using Finnish in worship and 12 parishes using Swedish. The total number of followers was 5915 people. [1] A number of Adventist churches ( Bethel Church in Turku and others) are architectural monuments in Finland.
At the same time as preaching and publishing, members of Adventist communities are fighting drunkenness, working in the field of healthcare , and are working with youth and school and educational work. Among the institutions that support the followers of Adventism in Finland are Toivonlinna High School (higher level and gymnasium) and the sanatorium of Hopeaniemi.
The Seventh-day Adventist Church of Finland is part of the international Adventist organization (headquartered in Silver Spring, Maryland, USA), as well as an observer member of the Ecumenical Council of Finland.
