The best football player of the month of the Russian football championship

The rules of the current prize, established by the RPL and the Match Premier television channel and awarded since the 2018/19 season, have not been published in open sources. It is also known that the best player of the month is selected by the fans ^[1] from the winners of the vote to select the best player in the round of the championship of Russia. The selection of the best player of the tour takes place in two stages: at the first, the fans vote for the best player of each of the eight matches of the tour; on the second - of the eight best players of the matches, the player of the tour is selected ^[3] . Voting takes place on the pages of Match TV and Match Premier television channels, as well as on the RPL page on the VKontakte social network ^[4] .

In the 2012/13 season, five experts and five journalists participated in the voting on the results of each round, each of whom named his three best. Moreover, the ranking of players by places was not made, for each mention the player received one crediting point.

Only experts participated in the vote for the best player in August and September 2012 ^[2] .

Since October 2012, users of the Championship.com portal have been allowed to choose the best player on the tour, and the number of specialists has been reduced to 4 people. According to the results of voting, three user votes are distributed, two of which go to the winner of the survey, and one more to the second-place player.

In the season 2013/2014, the following changes occurred in the regulations ^[5] :

• expansion of the number of journalists in the jury - from 5 to 7 people;
• an increase in the number of fan votes - from 3 to 6 (3 for the first place, 2 for the second and 1 for the third);
• Introduction to the jury of a permanent member of the Premier League with the right to vote.

Since November 2014, 3 experts and 8 journalists participated in the survey.

Since December 2014, a participant from the Liga-TV company has joined the composition of experts, and the number of journalists has been reduced to 7 people.

Since November 2015, a survey of fans on the VKontakte social network has been launched. Points are awarded for their votes in the same way as for the votes of users of the Championship.com portal.

In March 2016, a participant from the Liga-TV company ceased to participate in the voting, and the number of experts was increased to 4 people.

Thus, from March 2016 to May 2018, the winner is determined by the results of each round by adding the votes of 12 survey participants (journalists + specialists + RFPL representative). Each mention in the questionnaire is equal to one vote. In addition, the winner of each of the fan polls (on the Championship.com portal and on the VKontakte social network) receives three additional points, the second winner two, the third one. At the end of each reporting month, the most useful player of the month is determined.
