Hans-Georg Wieck ( German: Hans-Georg Wieck , born March 28, 1928, Hamburg) was a German statesman, diplomat, and president of the Federal Intelligence Service in 1985-1990.

Biography
Born in Hamburg, in 1953 he graduated from Hamburg University , where he studied law and philosophy, received a PhD degree for the work “The Origin of the Christian Democratic Union and the Restoration of the Center Party, 1945-1947.” [one]
From 1954 to 1993, he worked in the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and from 1966-1974 he worked in the Federal Ministry of Defense (1970-1974 - director of political planning). In 1974-1977 he was the Ambassador of Germany to Iran , in 1977-1980 - the Ambassador of Germany to the USSR , in 1980-1985 - the Permanent Representative of Germany in the "North Atlantic Council" ( NATO ) in Brussels. In 1985-1990 he was president of the BND .
In 1990 he returned to the diplomatic service and in 1990-1993 he was the ambassador of Germany to India. After leaving the civil service he conducted public work: in 1993-1995 he was an adviser to the President of Georgia E. Shevardnadze [1] , from 1998 to 2001 he was the head of the OSCE Advisory Monitoring Group in Minsk, from 1996 to September 2008 he was the chairman of the Indo-German society .
Since 2004, Hans-Georg Wieck has been Chairman of the Intelligence Advisory Council (GKND) [2] .
